Sam Vatovey focuses her art practice on painting and drawing. After living and working overseas as an artist for 20 years Sam has now established her studio on the edge of the Noosa National Park where her work is inspired by the surrounding landscape, the bush and its waterways. Her work presents an interpretation of the Australian landscape and includes environmental elements as well as the use of symbols, marks and fragments of language. Sam’s paintings are of a large format and she primarily works in oil on linen.
Sam has exhibited widely, including a solo exhibition “Language in Landscape” at the Cairns Regional Gallery and is included in group exhibitions, awards and art prizes in the region.
Since returning to Australia Sam’s paintings and drawings have been purchased by private collectors in Singapore, New Zealand and Australia.
